TV Guru – Tomato Interactive LLC

If you love television like I do – well, like I use to, when good programming was readily available, then you know what it is like to not want to miss a single episode of a show you love. Sometimes, though, I’ll stumble across an episode of a show I have never seen, or there have even been times when I’ll sit down to watch a show and not remember if I’ve even seen that particular episode. Well, if you take your television viewing seriously, there’s an app for that.

Tomato Interactive LLC (consisting of John Jacobson of Video Game Outsiders Podcast and Matt McCartny from The Kill Screens, also with Jacobson) has developed TV Guru. This is a basic, no frills app that allows you to create various folders for your viewing habits and within each one type in and find television series that you enjoy. The sky seems to be the limit, as every show I have typed in so far comes right up.

Once your series is selected, it will provide information such as the total number of seasons, the shows current status (cancelled, ended, returning) and list each episode and it’s title as well as a brief synopsis of that particular episode. The idea is that you can check off all those fantastic episodes you have already watched with a simple tap of the screen and narrow down the ones you are still missing out on. It’s a simple record keeper, basically, and it does its job wonderfully.

The app is available to iOS users at .99-cents for a version that works on both iPhone and iPad from the Apple App Store.
